As the developer of The Island at West Bay, the final neighborhood at West Bay Club in Estero, Kolter Urban frequently hears how much Members value the community’s outstanding private championship golf course. When asked to support a unique golf event showcasing the nation’s top collegiate athletes in Southwest Florida, they fully committed to delivering an exceptional experience for both the athletes and their families.

Kolter Urban and West Bay Club partnered with Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) to host the inaugural Island at West Bay Club Collegiate Invitational. From October 5th to 7th, collegiate golfers from across the nation gathered at the private club community just north of Naples to compete against the best in the sport. This event marked the first NCAA Division I men’s golf tournament held on West Bay Club’s championship course, designed by Pete and P.B. Dye.

Hosted by Florida Gulf Coast University, this year’s tournament brought together 14 of the best college golf teams, nine of which have ranked in the top 100 nationally. The event, which was free and open to the public, featured shotgun-style play, with teams completing 18 holes each day. Additionally, a PGA Professional clinic for junior golfers was held on Saturday, offering young players a unique opportunity to learn from the pros. Kolter Urban had the opportunity to showcase The Island at West Bay Club, a 24-story luxury condominium now under construction at West Bay Club.
